Digital Masters - Berlin Dinner 2022
Last week we returned to the German capital for our seventh Digital Masters Berlin Dinner. Held in the iconic Soho House, we brought together 80 of Berlin’s leading investors, CEOs, Board Members and C-suite Executives for an evening of informal networking. With representatives from companies across the growth curve, from VC and PE backed companies to corporates undergoing digital transformation, as well as the relevant investors, it was fantastic to be back in one of Europe’s key tech hubs.
The evening commenced with a drinks reception, allowing for networking between old acquaintances and new peers whilst guests took to the terrace for views of Alexanderplatz. Clare Johnston, CEO and Founder of The Up Group, continued proceedings with a brief welcome and spoke about the highlights of Germany’s tech scene, including the impressive 33 unicorns that have grown there.
Tobias Hartmann, CEO of Scout24 Group, graciously delivered an opening speech, commenting on the current business challenges everyone is facing, with sustainability being a key factor; this was not only a reference to sustainability in the sense of ESG, but about ensuring resilience on the top and bottom line simultaneously. Tobias’ words resonated with the group and encouraged lively conversation throughout dinner.
We are very grateful to Tobias and all of the guests who joined us for a fantastic evening; there was a true sense of community, with 13 ex-eBay employees staging a mini reunion and the importance of networking becoming visibly apparent.
We are proud to be able to host such occasions and would like to thank The Up Group’s owners AMS, as well as our Digital Masters partners Orrick and Silicon Valley Bank for their continued loyalty.
