International Women’s Day 2020 - #eachforequal
The Up Group is a proud supporter of International Women’s Day, a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women - while also marking a call to action for accelerating gender equality.
For 2020, the theme of the campaign is #EachforEqual - “Collectively, each one of us can help create a gender equal world”. Read more about the theme here.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg - US Supreme Court Justice and only the 2nd woman to ever be appointed to that position. She has recently made an incredible and monumental decision in the Obergefell v Hodges case which was the turning point in legalising same sex marriage in 50 states.
Ann Cotton founded Camfed (Campaign for Female Education) in 1993 after researching girls’ exclusion from education in Zimbabwe, observing that it was primarily poverty that prevented poor families sending their daughters to school. Since 1993, more than 3,500,000 children in Zimbabwe, Zambia, Tanzania, Ghana, and Malawi have benefited from Camfed’s work.
