People & Talent Leadership event 2024

On Monday night we hosted our annual People & Talent Leadership event in London, bringing together Europe’s leading Chief People Officers and Chief HR Officers, from companies including OakNorth Bank, GoCardless, Ocado, Vinted, Delivery Hero, Cleo, AVIV Group, Deliverect and Atom Bank and Talent leaders from funds such as Atomico, Balderton Capital, Sequoia Capital, Octopus Ventures, BGF, Dawn Capital, LocalGlobe, and Mayfair Equity Partners.

We heard from two fantastic speakers: Aileen O'Toole, Chief People Officer (former) at Prosus Group & Naspers and Rose Deschamps, Human Capital EMEA at TA Associates.

Aileen kicked off proceedings, sharing what she has learned about scaling consumer internet businesses throughout her career. Aileen emphasised the need to balance mission and values with performance, talent management, and fostering diversity of thought amongst the leadership group. Following Aileen, Rose provided insights from the private equity perspective and spoke to the audience about what TA Associates look for when trying to get people leaders into their portfolio. She highlighted the evolving nature of the People function within portfolio companies and emphasised the importance of being strategic, holistic and data-driven, particularly in this evolving Gen AI landscape.
